Varnish is a web app accelerator platform, which caches content for faster access. It is sometimes called an HTTP reverse proxy as well and it works between a web server and a web browser. When a website visitor accesses a particular page, its content is requested by the Internet browser, and then the server processes this request and sends back the needed content. If Varnish is enabled for a particular website, it will cache its pages at the first visit and if the visitor visits a cached page again, the info will be delivered by the caching platform and not by the server. The boosted speed is a result of the much faster response speed that Varnish offers as compared with any web server software. At the same time, this doesn’t mean that the users will keep being served the very same content over and over again, because any modification on any of the pages is reflected in the content that the Varnish platform caches in its memory.

Varnish in Cloud Hosting

Varnish comes as an optional upgrade with all our cloud hosting. You can add it to your web hosting account via the Hepsia Control Panel, which is available with all shared web hosting plans and you will get an exceptionally intuitive interface, which will grant you complete control over the caching system. Using 1-click quick-access controls, you can reboot or deactivate any of the instances, in other words – Varnish will no longer work for a specific website. You can also check an elaborate system log file or clear the cache for any of the websites. When you add Varnish to your hosting plan, you will be able to choose the maximum amount of memory that will be at your disposal for caching purposes and how many sites will use Varnish. You can always get more memory in increments of 32 megabytes and, for optimum performance, you can set a dedicated IP for the websites that will use Varnish. This will allow you to take full advantage of your websites and to have plenty of pleased website visitors.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers

All our semi-dedicated hosting plans come with Varnish by default, so you can use the web app accelerator tool and speed up any website that you host on our semi-dedicated servers. You’ll get 64 megabytes of memory dedicated to the Varnish accelerator at no extra fee and you can add an instance with no more than a couple of clicks of the mouse via the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated plans. If you need more memory, the latter is offered in increments of 32 megabytes through the Upgrades section of the Control Panel and it will be available to you instantly. You can also add more instances as a separate upgrade, so you can choose whether lots of data will be cached for a single site or whether the available memory will be used by several sites. Hepsia will permit you to reboot or to deactivate any instance, to see the system log file for it or to delete the cached content using single-click buttons. To get the most out of the Varnish accelerator, you can allocate a dedicated IP address to the websites which will use it.

Varnish in VPS Servers

You can take advantage of Varnish with any of our VPS server packages at no additional cost, as the data caching platform is pre-installed and is available by default. The sole precondition is that the virtual server must be ordered with the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, through which you’ll be able to activate Varnish for any of your sites with only a few clicks of the mouse. Each VPS plan includes a different amount of memory for content caching purposes, but you will have no less than several hundred MB, which is quite enough even for several traffic-hungry Internet sites. Shortly after you set up the Varnish platform, it’ll begin caching the content that your visitors request, so you’ll notice the much better website load speeds and the less load on the VPS in no time. Varnish will permit you to use a less high-priced server, as you won’t need that much power to sustain the uninterrupted operation of your sites even if you manage traffic-heavy websites with numerous visitors. Optimum results are achieved if the websites that use the Varnish caching platform also use a dedicated IP address.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers

If you order a dedicated server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you will get the Varnish platform at no additional fee and you will have total control over it via an extremely simple-to-use interface – you’ll be able to start, to delete or to reboot an instance, to view a comprehensive system log, to clear the cached content for any website and much more. Varnish will have several gigabytes of virtual memory at its disposal, so even if you’ve got busy sites with many visitors, you’ll notice the much faster web page load times and the lowered load on the machine. This will become a fact shortly after you start using Varnish, as it will require a certain amount of time to cache the site content that people request. You can make the most of the platform’s capacity if the websites that are using it also use a dedicated IP, but due to the fact that your server includes several IPs by default, you will not have to pay anything on top of your monthly fee for the server itself.
